"Why another tango festival?" It's a question I've heard often. In a world already brimming with fantastic festivals, why feel the need to create a new one? To that, I have a deeply personal response, borne out of my own tango journey. I share this with respect and appreciation for all the event organisers out there; after all, our experiences and opinions in the tango world are as diverse as the dance itself.
Yes, the landscape of tango is dotted with numerous festivals, each with its own legacy and charm. Undoubtedly, the tango world is rich with events catering to a variety of tastes: those who desire non-stop dancing, and those who blend their passion for Tango with a love for wild parties or sightseeing. Yet, my heart yearned for something different and as my tango journey deepened, my expectations from an event began to evolve. I yearned for music that truly stirred my soul, for maestros who resonated with my dance style, and for an ambiance reminiscent of the milongas of Buenos Aires. As I traveled to Buenos Aires, my longing for a quality event back in Europe intensified and when I couldn't find what I was looking for, I decided to try and see if it is possible to create an event from my dreams.
My ultimate tango experience hinges on three crucial elements: captivating traditional music, a thoughtful venue set-up, and of course the "right" Maestros who inspire me. It was this vision that led me and a group of like-minded friends to create a quality event we'd love to attend ourselves.
We envisioned an event that nurtures the diverse spirit of tango - a space that promotes dancing with a variety of tangueros, not just one for consecutive tandas. A place focused on socialising at the milonga where you can exchange thoughts, catch up with old friends, and create new friendships, leave your drink at a table when you go dancing. A space that celebrates tango as a shared experience, not just a dance.
Born out of this vision is the 'Quiero Verte Una Vez Mas' festival. This is our offering to those who, like us, seek a quality tango experience that strikes a balance between tradition and innovation, between dance and camaraderie.
We invite you to join us, to share your passion for tango with us and with fellow tango addicts at Quiero Verte Una Vez Más.
